Thoughts on a Cold Night

It is very cold today
In the night time it is worse
All the water froze outside
And the wind is howling
I can barely talk

I was inside a big house
All heated
Central heating as well as space heating
Still it was too cold.

This time of coldness and frigid weather
Drifts me to my past
To the present of millions
With no space heater or heavy duty blanket
Even no shelter to go
But to curl up inside cardboard boxes

Then the birds
The dears
The lizards
With even no clothes to cover
No water to drink
No food to eat
